Jackson Pollock is a famous artist. When he painted he liked his canvas on the ground and he liked to dance around when he was painting. He preferred to splatter paint but sometimes he would make a collage of different colors. He made many paintings before he died in a car crash in 1956 at 10:15 pm.
Jackson Pollock painted with the seven contents of art! Here are three examples:
Texture: art can be rough, smooth and bumpy, ect. Texture is how something feels and looks. Texture can be made by using a large amount of paint in one area and letting it dry or gluing layers of tissue paper on an object. There are many other ways to make texture, too.
Lines: there are straight lines, wiggly lines and curved lines. Lines have their own length and width, too. You can make lines if you make a line in the sand or draw with a pencil.
Colour: colour is created by reflections of light at different wavelengths. You can create different colours by mixing other colours together. Primary colours are blue, red and yellow and secondary colours are green, orange and violet. When you mix red and blue you get violet. If you mix red and yellow you get orange. If you mix blue and yellow you get green.
There are some differences between my painting and Jackson Pollock’s paintings. Mine is done on a computer but his were not. His paintings were done on the floor but mine was done on the wall. I used a computer but he used a paint brush. Here is a link to the website where I made my painting: JacksonPollock.org
